About The Owners
Their first business was “Ordway’s Market” in the South End of Concord, where Soon-Jin baked fresh breads, muffins, and bagels, cut high-quality steaks, and traveled to the docks for fresh seafood. He introduced homemade subs, soups, chowders, pizzas, Asian fried rice and noodles, and hot subs. He also learned a new style of cooking called “Hibachi,” Japanese steel grill cooking.
His passion for opening his own restaurant grew. After his daughter and son were accepted into New Hampton School, Soon-Jin purchased the Bridgewater Inn in November 2000. He introduced Tempura Shrimp, Wood-fired Brick Oven Pizza, Homemade Pasta, and the area’s first Japanese steakhouse. He kept the main dining room focused on American and Italian cuisine, featuring fresh pasta, Black Angus steaks, and fresh seafood. He transformed a small 4-season porch into the Japanese Steakhouse, where he personally cooks in front of guests on the teppanyaki table.
His wife, Dianna, brought her serving and bartending experience to running the front of the house. Together, they are now in their 26th season at The Bridgewater Inn and still going strong. Their son, Justin, has also played an important role and has been Head Line Chef for 16 years. Soon-Jin and Justin continue creating memorable meals for their guests.
